wedgi.us is the online home of Wyatt Gallagher since 2004.

History

In the summer of 2003, I created this blog and portfolio website on another domain. In April 2004, I obtained wedgi.us and moved my blog here. Through 2010, it hosted my personal blog. Since then, I put my blog on the back seat to focus on showing my portfolio of work as a software designer.

Over these twenty-plus years it has also served as a code playground and experimental space, for me to play with shiny new toys in the world of front-end development.

As I write this, it’s early 2025, and I’ve abandoned most corporate-owned social media. The itch to share remains: what I care about, what I’m working on, what I find interesting. I also have work-related things to share: what I’ve done before, what I’m doing next, and services I can provide. All of these are different parts of who I am, and they all contribute to one another; so instead of trying to keep them all separated, I’m rebuilding my home here.

Typography

This website is set in Public Sans, a project of the United States government in slightly better times, itself derived from Libre Franklin.

Technology

This website is built on top of a popular open-source content management system. I’ve used this CMS on and off since 2004, shortly after it was forked from b2/cafelog. Please support alternatives until the project’s governance is resolved.

In time, blog posts will support federation.

This website is hosted on a shared hosting account. Sorry for the slowness.
