The student loan debt issue can be summed up like this:
We made a mistake with the support of the system—our parents, our advisors, our schools, our banks, our federal government. Now the system wants to make us live with that mistake.
If we’re going to live with this mistake, then don’t accuse us of holding the economy hostage with our entitlement and brattiness when the majority of us can’t buy cars or houses, make real investments, support charities and nonprofits, or start businesses while thousands of dollars a month hang over our heads for ten, fifteen, twenty years. You, you there in the system, you’re holding the economy hostage.
If we’re going to have to live with this mistake, then you better be willing to live with it, too, because the consequences are going to screw all of us.
